Five-time Grammy(r)-winning soprano Dawn Upshaw is joined by the “consummate skill and quirky charm” (The New York Times) of So Percussion, today’s leading percussion ensemble. This contemporary pairing brings an exciting freshness to our season with an evening that includes a brand new work by Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Caroline Shaw, created specifically for Upshaw and So Percussion through the commissioning consortium Music Accord. The Kennedy Center is a proud member of this innovative organization that connects composers and artists with the goal of creating new work.
