Honoring Janet Cowperthwaite

For 43 brilliant years, Janet Cowperthwaite was the manager of the Kronos Quartet and the founding Executive Director of the non-profit Kronos Performing Arts Association. As young performers, we looked up to Janet and founder David Harrington at Kronos as superheroes – people who took an art form hundreds of years old and made it relevant, exciting and progressive. But it was always their fearless sense of collaboration that inspired us most, and that we wholeheartedly embraced. Janet blazed more trails than we can possibly count. And she always took time to answer our questions and help us navigate our budding career. Janet, you are without question a Sōperhero!
